Elegant San Francisco City Hall Elopement || Akaila + Vonzell

SF Bay Area City Hall Wedding || San Francisco Adventure Elopement and Wedding Photographer

Ever since photographing this City Hall elopement in 2017 that was featured on Junebug Weddings, San Francisco has quickly become my top elopement destination–– and I’m not mad about it. The city has something for every couple–– gorgeous architecture, sprawling wooded areas, unique beaches, proximity to the beauty that is Point Reyes, and a little thing you might’ve heard of called the Golden Gate Bridge. All the photography location options make it so easy to customize a day perfect for any couple hoping to elope in or near San Francisco.

San Francisco City Hall is far and away the most requested ceremony location, and with good reason. It’s hands down the most beautiful city hall, and your civil ceremony permit includes access to photograph inside the beautiful building before and after your elopement or wedding. The grand staircase is iconic, as are the sun-drenched balconies (my personal favorite), and massive windows. It’s classic, historic San Francisco, and suited Akaila and Vonzell so well. The style of SF City Hall reflected their elegant, understated style so well.

We followed up their ceremony with a little beach escapade in the city where they read their personal vows to each other. These ruins are one of my favorite beach locations in San Francisco. They’re a perfect contrast to the structured, grand elegance of City Hall if you want your elopement to represent both your classic side and your wild side.

Akaila’s sexy, minimalist wedding dress, C Bassette by Floravere, was perfect for both locations. Her incredible natural beauty shined through, it suited the classic elegance of San Francisco City Hall, while staying natural and comfortable enough for our elopement adventure at the beach. P.S. Akaila is a Stanford surgeon resident and bragging about my brides is my number one hobby.
