Adventurous Anniversary Session in Grand Teton National Park || Syd + Rex

Elopement-Style Vow Renewal in Jackson Hole, Wyoming || Grand Teton Adventure Elopement Photographer

What comes after the engagement session, the wedding, and the post-wedding adventure session? A full-day anniversary session exploring Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming *obviously*.

Sydney and Rex are always down for an adventure and asked me where I most wanted to go and take photographs. They let me dream big and planned their entire anniversary vacation around my suggestion of Grand Teton National Park; that level of trust makes me melt into a mushy puddle.

We began their all-day adventure session at dawn at the iconic Jenny Lake for some foggy lakeside photos. We got lucky with a still reflection of the Tetons in the water, which was a gift since it had been so windy all week. Syd brought the perfect red midi dress for a little outfit change and it made all the colors pop perfectly as the sun rose above mountains.

Sydney and I decided to take a mid-day moment after lunch to sneak in some boudoir photos! They were staying at Fireside Jackson Hole on Moose Wilson Road, which has the most beautiful tiny cabins that perfectly fit the cozy vibe of Grand Teton. It was a great way to pass the time of harsh mid-day light and warm up before we ventured back out for sunset photos.

For sunset, we frolicked by Snake River and even had an incredible encounter with a larger-than-life moose! It approached us from across a meadow, and we managed to get a couple photos while maintaining a safe distance. It was the highlight of all highlights.

A few tips if you’re visiting Jackson Hole and Grand Teton National Park:

As an extremely important sidebar, if you’re visiting Grand Teton, be sure to get your hands on some Huckleberry donuts from Cowboy Coffee Co at Jackson Hole’s town square. For dinner, the restaurants had long waits and were pretty expensive, so we opted to get groceries and make dinner at our vocation rental.

We rented through Rendezvous Mountain Rentals, which operates a ton of vacation rentals in and around Jackson Hole. We found their selection and pricing to be more reasonably priced, spacious, and nicer accommodations than AirBnB and hotels near Grand Teton. Syd and Rex stayed at Fireside Resort Cabins, which were a gorgeous, minimalist, romantic option. We absolutely loved the Jackson Hole town and Grand Teton National Park, and can’t wait to go back.
